We had our house completely stripped, power washed and sprayed by Easy Choice in 2008, with a 25 year warranty. It started pealing and blistering a year later, they did some minor touch up then, but the problems continued. Just having our house repainted for the 3rd time now in 2020, the current painter said they should remove all he Armorex as it doesn't stick and painting over it is just temporary. Stay away from Amorex and Easy Choice!

Stay away from permanent paints

We had our house painted by Easy Choice Exteriors with Armorex in 2009. It had some minor pealing within a year, and Easy Choice came back to fix, insisting this was typical but that it would be okay after that. Now the house is a mess, pealing, cracking and bubbling. Easy Choice Easy Choice went out of business and Lanco Harris (manufacturer of Armorex) will not honor the warrantee. Stay away from any of these permanent paint companies. They are all fly-by-night operations. A wooden framed light poste they painted totally rotted underneath the paint - is the same thing happening to my house? Now I don't know what to do. Can I just sand the house and paint over the Armorex? Or do I have to completely remove the Armorex, or have my house re-sided.

Faulty Paint Job

I had them paint my house two years ago. They assured me that it came with a lifetime guarantee that could be transferred to a new owner for a fee. Now it's showing bubbles in many areas and some rot (should have been repaired before being painted). I tried calling the owner, Paul Kunz, twice on his cell phone: number 617-510-****, but have received no response. Their other number, 877-easy989 is no longer in service. Now they are out of business?! I will now have to look into legal options to se if can get him (Paul) to make good on his company's promise or compensation to have it repaired.

we too have a mess on our house. That Paul Kuntz took us all over the coals.

I have tried to get Amorex to at least return the cost of the paint. Does anyone know a phone number for the paint co.

Same exact problem. I rue the day I met Paul Kunz. What a crook!

Easy Choice Exteriors MA, Future Finish CT, NH Permanent Paint

I decided to have Easy Choice Exteriors apply the Armorex product on my home in 2010 here in Massachusetts. Well here it is 2012 and Easy Choice is out of business. I contacted the Armorex headquarters and essentially was told they are just the manufacturer. The Easy Choice company lied to me saying they back the warranty labor and materials. The other Armorex dealer in CT - Future Finish will not service my issue, nor the New Hampshire dealer, both of these other dealers don't even list a business address. I think they are all fly by nighters and a scam. www.ez-choice.net www.futurefinish.com www.nhpermanentpaint.com Read my BBB review in detail on this Armorex product. Stay far away, the product is *** paint at best and doesn't last more than a few years. http://www.bbb.org/boston/Business-Reviews/home-improvements/easychoice-exteriors-in-woburn-ma-114422/complaints

We suffered the same scam in MA in the summer of 2011. Since then have had stucco repairs and need a new paint job. Fortunately Rhinoshield has agreed to do it

Peeling paint off the entire side of the house. patches fly away in the wind.

Not sure what to do next to fix "lifetime paint" that cost 3 times regular paint and lasted about 1/3 the time of regular paint.

Company said the new dealer would contact...HA! Unhappy red house in NH

We are having the same issues. Live in Massachusetts.

We had Easy Choice paint our home. Paid it in full. We paid $18K for this job with the belief it would last our lifetime and that if we sold the house and the new owners did not like the color, they would paint it for cost of labor only. Good line.

Now have pealing and bubbling on the deck and have contacted John in NH in April and e-m in June, who told me that they are handling a number of complaints about Easy Choice and will be down to look at the house shortly because he had surgery. Well, haven't seen him either. Tried contacting home office to no avail. Wonder if there is legal recourse - through atty general's office?

Should've gone with my first instinct to not hire them and get rhino shield. Cliff Kennedy talked a good story and my husband thought he was honorable and knowledgeable. So much for that. I contacted the BBB, who couldn't locate anyone at all.

Surprise!

BTW, this is not a bogus post. This is true.

Same exact thing happened to us. Easy Choice messed up and John said he would help and we never heard from him. It is like I wrote this review myself.

Same thing happened to me. My house was painted in 2009 and I'm now having problems with peeling and bubbling.

Lanco & Harris says they will back the product, but you need to prove that the product is faulty. If the application is faulty they won't back it. Too bad, because if these products are applied correctly they really will last a lifetime, with minimal maintenance.

So that means I'm going to have to hire one of the companies from CT or NH to do some maintenance on my house. So much for a lifetime warrantee.

This post is in response to dmguthrie who stated that the owner of Easy Choice Exteriors now works for our Rhino Dealership. this is untrue and he does not work for our dealership in any capacity and never has.

For anyone reading anonymous online posts I would strongly suggest doing online homework with reputable vetted sources.

BBB, Angies List, Your States Consumer Affairs division. In our experience most posts are competitors trying to make each other look bad.

I', located in Mass close to the NH border and had Easy Choice Exteriors paint my house and barn as well. It was done in 2010 and it is peeling in a number of places.

I don't think it's the Armorex paint that is the issue so much as it was the poor prep and application of the product. The funny thing is that the previous owner of it is now a regional Sales manager for the Rhino Shield company/product in Massachusetts. I'm more wary of the persons who ran the Easy Choice Exteriors company than I am of the product they used. I was told that the manufacturer had backed up the work previously in an instance when it was applied by someone who wasn't trained to use the product.

Hearing that Lanco Paints won't back it up is kind of a blow to me as I just left a message for the VP of sales of the manufacturer.

Darn. :cry

I contacted the NH Permanent Paint dealer for the same issue. Easy choice butchered my house and the supplier nor the local dealer that is suppling the labor will help me out.

John Irish from Nh permanent paint told me it will cost additional money to repair. The problem with John Irish (Nh permanent paint) he subs out all his work.

He has a PO BOx for an address. Very unprofessional.

Been dealing for months with John Irish. Now he says he has spoken with the manufacturer of the paint.

Of course, it isn't the paint causing the issue, but the application. So no warranty. It was applied too thin. The manufacturer is "willing" to supply more paint but we would have to pay for the labor.

His contractors don't come to MA because of cost of insurances. There should be some recourse with the manufacturer!

My name is Jimmy and I am the owner of Future Finish in CT. We have never been contacted by anyone in MA, we are not licensed to work in MA and did not do the work on this home.

We back our labor and product warranty on any issues on any homes that we have done. We have been in business for a very long time and this post is probably a false online complaint from a competitor, check out our BBB rating or speak with many of our hundreds of satisfied customers.
